The Pilot Hut on the UC Davis campus is a demonstration unit, modeling examples of innovative systems, materials and building methods and how they could be incorporated into future housing.

 

Located next to the Domes community on campus, the hut's design and approach pays homage to the ethos of sustainability, the commitment to innovation, and the spirit of cooperative living, all of which have a rich tradition at UC Davis.

Consisting of 404 sq ft, the structure's foundation and shell was assembled on site in just two days and utilized pre-coordinated parts and pieces to build quickly and effectively.
