HOW WILL THIS PROJECT BENEFIT STAKEHOLDERS?

Citizens of California/Public Benefit – Demonstrates for builders, financers and citizens the potential for new methods to achieve high quality, low cost, sustainable housing built here in California.

UC Davis community – Helps campus achieve our mission to address the challenges facing Californians, notably, the lack of affordable and climate smart housing. Creates an on campus ‘laboratory’ to facilitate faculty research on housing and materials innovations. Helps build a network of partners to fund and participate in mission-oriented research. Potential for students to be involved as interns and to connect with real world partners in the sustainable housing movement.

Redhorse Constructors and partners—an opportunity to partner with university experts to evaluate innovative systems and materials that may be part of future sustainable and affordable housing. A chance to demonstrate the concepts they’re advancing related to the four pillars and invite others to see the concepts in action.

HOW LONG WILL THE DEMO HUT BE THERE?
The Demo Hut on campus is a temporary structure intended to be on site for one year, with the option for SCHA and campus to renew and extend this period for future collaboration and research if requested.​
